Road Safety Week 2024

Sunday 17th – Saturday 23rd November

Every year, we proudly stand with Brake, the road safety charity, to champion the importance of Road Safety Week. For several years, we’ve dedicated ourselves to supporting this impactful campaign, sharing essential resources and building initiatives that help spread Brake’s vital road safety messages far and wide.

This year, we’re thrilled to launch our campaign, #SaferTomorrow, an initiative designed
to inspire all drivers to pledge to safer roads.

About our Campaign #SaferTomorrow

Our #SaferTommorow campaign is an initiative to encourage drivers to pledge to helping us make the roads safer. By taking part today, you are creating a #SaferTommorow.

By joining us and making a your digital pledge today, you’re actively helping to create a safer future for everyone on the road. As part of your pledge, we’re asking drivers to commit to focusing on three core principles:

Pledge to prioritize your well-being by practicing mindfulness before, during, and after your journey. This involves checking in on your emotional and physical state, and staying fully focused on the road. By driving mindfully, you’re ensuring that you are prepared to drive safely, reducing the risks of distractions or emotional distress that can lead to incidents.

Commit to following traffic laws, respecting speed limits, and avoiding risky behaviors like distracted or impaired driving. Your actions behind the wheel impact not only your safety but the safety of everyone on the road.

Become a road safety advocate by promoting safe driving within your community, sharing resources, and inspiring others to join the movement. Your advocacy during and beyond Road Safety Week will help us achieve safer roads through collective action.

New Safety Video in Partnership with Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance

FREE access exclusively during Road Safety Week

Designed to educate drivers and the general public, this video provides a guide on how to provide safe, effective assistance at a road incident until emergency services arrive. Each vital minute can make a life-saving difference.

A portion of the proceeds from sales of this safety video after Road Safety Week will be going to Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance to continue their life saving work.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance is the independent Charity that brings an advanced critical care team to the most seriously ill and injured patients in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, giving them the best chance of survival and recovery, when the worst happens.

It costs around £17,750 per day for the service to remain operational and relies solely on generous donations.

On 9th September 2024,  Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance embarked on the biggest leap forward in their charity’s history by launching the Operation Airbase Appeal. They plan to relocate their airbase from north-west Hampshire to near Southampton Airport – centralising their service means the highly experienced doctors and paramedics can reach almost every patient in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight within 10 minutes of take-off – in contrast to the current time of 20 minutes or more for some. This move will save time and save more lives. The charity needs to raise £3.6million to repurpose and equip a new airbase and charity headquarters.

You can support Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance by; corporate partnerships, getting involved with events, becoming a regular donor, leaving a gift in your will, or volunteering.
